HOME DEPOT “ADOPTS” COLE PARK

Logan’s Landing is pleased to announce that the Logansport Home Depot has officially “adopted” Cole Park, on Eel River Avenue in downtown Logansport. The adoption effort was spearheaded by Home Depot crew members Travis Pearson, Carrie Williams, Cindy Woolever, and Adam Myszak, and will involve all Team Depot volunteers. Home Depot personnel will maintain the park, including pruning and trimming of shrubbery and flowers, and will plant new flowers and plants seasonally. All materials and labor are being donated by Home Depot. A sign has been placed in Cole Park recognizing this adoption.

Parks Administrator Janet Fawley of the Logansport Parks Department, who has  partnered with Logan’s Landing to keep Cole Park maintained, is very pleased with this commitment from Home Depot: “Home Depot has a history of helping the Logansport Parks Department with a variety of projects. Their employees are very dedicated to helping our community with their volunteer work, and the Parks Department is very grateful for this newest commitment!”

Cole Park was created in 2006, turning a vacant patch of land into a lovely garden, complete with elaborate gazebo fountain. The renovation was funded by Milt and Jean Cole, local philanthropists and owners, with their family, of Cole Hardwood. This transformation won the Indiana Main Street Design of Downtown Public Improvement Award in 2008.
