THANKS FOR HELP WITH DOWNTOWN CLEANUP

On Saturday, April 21st, Logan’s Landing held a “Green & Clean Day.”  This year, Logan’s Landing collaborated with other neighborhood organizations, including West Logan Task Force and Southside Gateway Committee, who coordinated clean-ups in their areas on the same day. We had an amazing turnout, with over a hundred volunteers donating a few hours of their time on a chilly Saturday morning to pick up litter, sweep, pull weeds, rake, and generally spruce up our community. We collected ten bags of trash, two bins of recyclables, and a record-breaking 113 bags of yard waste, plus two truckloads of loose (unbagged) brush!  Now that Logansport has gotten a good spring cleaning, it is our hope that our citizens and visitors will be inspired to help keep it clean and inviting.

Special thanks to the following:  Logansport Savings Bank and the Logansport Fire Department for donating bottled water and ice for our volunteers; Cass County Solid Waste Management for loaning us recycling bins; Home Depot for donating supplies;  local media for helping us get the word out and recruit volunteers; and to representatives of  the LHS Berryettes, Hope Hospice, Ivy Tech Logansport, LMU, Beta Gamma Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society from the Logansport Ivy Tech campus; LFD, Cass County Communication Network, Family Opportunity Center, Midtown Village Association, Southside Gateway Committee, West Logan Task Force,  Cass County Work Release, Logan’s Landing board & committee members, and numerous individuals for volunteering their time and efforts to make Logansport a community we can all be proud of.

Let’s all help keep Logansport green and clean!
