THANKS FOR HELP WITH DOWNTOWN CLEANUP

Wednesday, April 24th, 2019

On Saturday, April 20th, Logan’s Landing held our annual “Downtown Green & Clean Day.” Close to 90 dedicated volunteers donated a few hours of their time on a cold, overcast Saturday morning to pick up litter, sweep, pull weeds, rake, and generally spruce up our community. We collected 15 bags of trash, 1 bin of recyclables, and more than 35 bags of yard waste, plus two trailers full of loose brush!  Now that downtown Logansport has gotten a good spring cleaning, it is our hope that our citizens and visitors will be inspired to help keep it clean and inviting.

Special thanks to the following: event chair Wyndi Thompson and special assistant Annabelle Shackelford; Logansport Savings Bank and Logansport Fire Department for donating bottled water and ice for our volunteers; Home Depot, Martin’s Supermarket , McCord’s Do It Best, and Rural King for donating yard waste bags; Cass County Communication Network for promotional assistance and pictures; United Way for the loan of work gloves, the Pharos-Tribune and WSAL for helping us get the word out; and to representatives of  the following teams: the Armstrong Family, the Baldwin Family, Beacon Credit Union West, Clay Town & Country 4-H Club, Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, Cub Scout Pack 3200, La Esperanza, Landis Elementary 5th Grade, LHS Dance Team, Little Turtle Waterway Volunteers, Logansport Fire Department , Logansport Municipal Utilities, the Mayorga Family, Pokemon Go of Logansport, VFW Auxiliary, Vineyard Community Church, and many individuals for volunteering their time and efforts to make Logansport a community we can all be proud of.

Let’s all help keep Logansport green and clean!
