LOGAN’S LANDING SAYS THANK YOU!

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

On behalf of Logan’s Landing, I am writing this letter to thank the entire logansport and Cass County community for making the sixth annual Taste of Cass
County a successful event — despite the storm that moved through during the evening and brought many activities to an early halt!  This year’s Taste was well-attended, with many people traveling from out of town to attend.  Close to $20,000 was circulated in downtown Logansport as a direct result of this event, with over $15,000 of that spent during the event itself, on admissions, refreshment tickets, and souvenir t-shirts.

Special thanks go out to the event chair, Jeremy Ashcraft, for all his hard work.  In addition, thank you to all who attended, as well as to our volunteers, vendors, bands, and of course to all the companies, organizations and individuals who so generously sponsored the event and those who donated goods and services.   Without you, this event would never have been possible!

TASTE OF CASS COUNTY SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 13TH

Monday, August 8th, 2011

Logan’s Landing presents the 6th annual Taste of Cass County!  Join us at Little Turtle Waterway Plaza on Saturday August 13th starting at 5 pm.  Attendees can purchase refreshment tickets for $1 each and enjoy food and drink from a dozen Cass County establishments, including Applebees, B&K West, Bruno’s, Bubba’s Smoke Shack, Dessert First, Hap’s East, Logansport Boardwalk Café, Old Style Inn, Panaderia/Country Bakery, People’s Winery, Pepsi Cola, and Sycamore.  Five bands (Runnin’ Late, Barn Star Sharks, Barefoot Murphy, MudHippies, and Neon Love Life) will perform on the Security Federal Savings Bank stage in the park, followed by fireworks over the Wabash River at dark (roughly 10 pm).  After the fireworks, two more bands (A Failed Escape and Twisted Riddler) will perform in the Old Style Inn adult beverage tent, which will remain open until 1:30 a.m.

Festival-goers can enjoy free golf cart tours of the Little Turtle Waterway Trail, including the recently completed extension to 12th Street.  Golf cart tours are sponsored by Hope Hospice.  Youngsters can also enjoy a free bounce house, thanks to Security Federal, as well as free face painting by Logansport Art Association. Admission to the festival area is just $1 per person, and children under 6 get in free. This event is a fundraiser to help Logan’s Landing continue its programs to improve and preserve Logansport’s downtown district.  For more information, call Logan’s Landing at 574-722-9345.
