THANKS FOR HELP WITH DOWNTOWN CLEANUP

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

On Saturday, April 16th, Logan’s Landing held a “Downtown Green & Clean Day.”   More than eighty volunteers donated a few hours of their time on a rainy Saturday morning to sweep, rake, pick up litter, and generally spruce up our downtown district.  We collected eight bags of trash, fifty-four bags of yard waste, and two bins of recyclables.  Now that downtown Logansport has gotten a good spring cleaning, it is our hope that our citizens and visitors will take a moment to dispose of trash properly rather than tossing litter on the ground, so that residents and downtown business owners will be able to keep downtown green and clean!

Special thanks to the following:  Cass County Solid Waste Management for loaning us recycling bins; Logansport Street Department for free same-day pickup of the huge pile of yard waste bags; Logansport Savings Bank and the Logansport Fire Department for donating bottled water and ice for our volunteers; Home Depot for donating supplies and sending Team Depot to work at the event; and to representatives of the Cass County Arts Alliance, Midtown Village Association, the LHS Berryettes, Cass-Pulaski Community Corrections, Civic Players of  Logansport, Cardinal Services, Downtown Business Owners, Logansport Young Professionals, Jean Cole, Cass County Communication Network, Family Opportunity Center, Main Street United Methodist Men’s Group, Logan’s Landing board & committee members, and numerous individuals for volunteering their time and efforts to make our downtown district an area we can all be proud of.

Let’s all help keep downtown Logansport green and clean!
